Many people desire to hear from God, yet they claim they have never heard him speak. Some expect a loud audible voice, yet God most often speaks in a whisper. Why? In order to hear a whisper, we must lean in, get close, and listen. It is intimate. There is nothing more important to God than for us to be in a deep, intimate relationship with him. The problem isn’t a speaking problem. The problem is a hearing problem. Hearing God requires following Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.” If we want to hear his voice, we have to know his voice.
While we could talk endlessly on the variety of ways God chooses to speak to us, the more important topic is, “Why does God choose to speak to us?”
· God often speaks to us in a whisper because his desire is to have an intimate relationship with you.
· In order to hear His voice, you must make time to being still and allowing his voice to be the loudest in your life.
· While He has much to say, what he wants you to hear more than anything else is that He loves you. You are not alone. He has given you the gift of Jesus. Hear him calling… and say yes. Lay it all down at the foot of the cross and receive the gift of salvation.
