Wind is one of the only things that we understand to be both nonphysical and tangible at the same time. In other words, we can’t see it, we can’t hold it, but we don’t doubt its existence. Why? Because we can feel it and we can see its affects.
As we think about the future of this church, we want one of our mantras to be: Catch the wind. We want that to be a value we live by. That the wind is what moves us, and the wind is what directs us. And the wind can’t be contained, and the wind can’t be controlled. You can’t capture it, but the wind comes and blows where it pleases. It can come up suddenly. It can change directions unexpectedly. And as a church, we’re good with that. Like, whatever the wind wants to do is what we want the wind to do. We just want to simply raise the sails and catch the wind.
