Passage: 2 Kings 5:1-14
We’ve been forced into a situation totally outside of our control, and it hasn’t taken long to discover that none of our strength, influence, our financial well-being, our skills, or connections can save us. Instead this for many of us has become a season of total surrender. Naaman was probably accustomed to getting what he wanted. With his own strength and power, he had made his way to the top of the ladder.
His pride and independence coupled with who he had always been had gotten the best of him. But from the encouraging words of a servant, Naaman quickly realized that a deeper healing was on the other side of his own humility.
So often, we are unwilling to change, we are unwilling to surrender. What we learn from Naaman is that through obedience, repentance and humility, God can give us the gift of being transformed.
